# How does Sticky Session work?

A sticky session can be set between **1 and 30 minutes**; unlimited duration is not supported. The value you set is the maximum holding time — counting starts with your first request, and an IP is typically held for about 15–20 minutes. Longer settings are generally less stable.

* To change the IP manually, modify the `sessid` parameter.
* If you need a new IP every few seconds, use rotating mode (a sticky session must be longer than 1 minute).
* For a long-term fixed IP, use a static ISP proxy — it stays with you as long as you keep renewing.
* To use different fixed IPs across browser windows, assign a different `sessid` to each window.
