# Does ThorData charge failed SERP API requests?

Usually no. The [Billing Instructions](https://doc.thordata.com/doc/scraping/serp-api/billing-instructions) state that only `200` successful responses are billed; `400`, `401`, `403`, `429`, `500`, and `504` are not. It suits cost control, not careless high-rate requests.
