# Is SERP API usage legal and compliant?

ThorData’s FAQ states that SERP scraping legality depends on target-site terms, service restrictions, and how the data is used. ThorData’s AUP prohibits illegal, fraudulent, or abusive activity, including collecting nonpublic login-protected data, click fraud, fake accounts, and SEO manipulation. Use it only for lawful public-data collection, SEO monitoring, ad verification, and market research.
