# 4. The proxy works, but the IP location randomly jumps to other countries you don't want

When you check on some IP detection websites, there may be inconsistencies with the region where you purchased the product.

The reasons for this situation are as follows:

1. Differences in data sources: Different websites may use different data sources such as service providers (ISP) and geographical location databases, resulting in different detection results.
2. Algorithm differences: Each website has different algorithms and methods for processing IP address information. Factors such as geographical location and anonymity will also affect the results.
3. Update frequency: IP address information will change over time. Websites with high update frequency will have more accurate detection results.
   1. Geographical location accuracy: There are errors in the mapping between IP and geographical location. Different websites use different methods to determine geographical location, resulting in different results.
4. Detection technology: When using Ping test, Traceroute and other technologies for IP detection, technical differences will affect the accuracy and precision of the results.

Besides, if this issue occurs in a scenario with a dynamic proxy, there may be another reason which is the mistake of location settings. If you forget to set the country when you need a UK IP, then the account part in the output format will not contain country-related information, so the system will randomly assign you an IP address from a different country by default, which is contrary to your original intention.
